WHO:
For those of you who are looking to learn the basics of camera ready riding, while holding a prop weapon, delivering a line, and hitting a mark this is for you.
For aspiring actors, seasoned actors, stunt professionals and aspiring stunt professionals. All levels of riding welcomed.
*All stunt riding or any technique work is always optional with modifications available.
WHAT:
This three day “cowboy/warrior camp” will give you a peek inside what it’s like on set with horses. You will leave understanding what’s expected of you, in addition to hitting marks, understanding timing and why it’s important, and the option of what it’s like to hit the ground in a “saddle fall” horseback with proper technique and coaching.

WHY:

Know what’s expected when applying for horse work. This curriculum covers foundational safety, handling skills, and specific techniques for horseback riding in film, stunts and culminating in a realistic filming simulation. Technique and skills build to a final day with scene work.
This clinic also gives you the tools and knowledge to continue training your skills as a performer

-Checking skill level and working deeper into challenging areas with techniques and drills

Day 2
-Recap on Day 1, table talk
-Continue working on techniques and skills to improve from Day 1
-Warm up horses
-Advance horse control techniques
-Building advanced skills for precision movements horseback
-Safety protocols for high risk riding and stunts
-HITTING THE MARK
-Introduction to saddle falls, stationary tools
(Simultaneous stations for different technique training experiences)
-Hands on practice and scenario training
-Q and A recap
Day 3
-Recap of Day 1 and Day 2, table talk
-Warm up horses
-Reinforcement of safety practices
-Recap Day 1, 2 horseback
-Recap stationary drills for saddle falls
(Simultaneous stations for different technique training experiences)
- Preparation for filming simulations
-Assigning roles, rider stunt double, out riders/posse.
-Walking through a blocking scenario for a rehearsal.
-Going to picture!!
-At the end of the scene work- judges vote on The best performances. Winners selected win a custom clinic belt buckle!
-Certificate to all participants
-Final Q and A
